Persephone center – Sustainability, Culture, Spirit- is glad to invite you to a group exhibition “ACTION – VARIABLE SUBJECTS” at the Persephone “art. Event festival”.
Three opening events with live music.
Guests will be invited to join the artists’ village we set up for the event. The house and its surroundings turn into a temporary gallery space.
The works on display at the Persephone house range from public and private space, blurring and mixing between these spaces and allowing a glimpse of the home archetype as a gateway for human perception, psychic and physical reality. All work has imports the house motif in varies ways between the Israeli dream of bourgeois villa with a red roof, the politicization of the house as Israeli recognition disturbing class that encompasses experiences of displacement and immigration.
In ancient societies The house was the center of reality, the surrounding chaos was threatening, but it was threatening because it was unreal. Without a home at the center of the real, one was not only without shelter, but also lost in nonbeing, in unreality. Without a home everything was fragmentation. Home was the center of the mental map of the world because it was the place where the vertical axis crossed with the horizontal one. The vertical line was a path leading upwards to the sky and downwards to the underworld. The horizontal line represented the traffic of the world, all the possible roads leading across the earth to other places. This proximity to the Axis Mondi, has promised a direct access to all meetings and journeys. – From the writings of John Berger.

פעולה – נושאים משתנים
העבודות בתערוכה בבית פרספונה נעות בין גבולות המרחב הפרטי והציבורי, טשטוש
וערבוב בין מרחבים אלה ומאפשרות הצצה לארכיטיפ הבית כשער לתפיסה האנושית,
העל חושית והפיזית את המציאות. כל עבודה מייבאת את מוטיב הבית באופנים שונים-
בין החלום הישראלי הבורגני של ווילה עם גג אדום, לפוליטיזציה של הבית כבעל מעמד
מטריד בהכרה הישראלית המאגד בתוכו חוויות העקירה והעלייה.
בתרבויות קדומות הבית היווה מרכז המציאות, הכאוס סביב איים על האדם מפני שמחוץ
לבית תמצא עצמך במחוזות ה”חוסר מציאות”. ללא בית במרכז המציאות, האדם לא היה
רק חשוף וחסר מקום מסתור אלא אבוד בחוסר קיום, חוסר ממשות. ללא בית המציאות
נהיית פרגמנטרית – שברים ורסיסי חווית קיום. הבית היווה את המפה המנטאלית של
העולם מפני שהוא ממוקם היכן שהציר האנכי והאופקי נפגשים וחוצים האחד את השני-
הקו האופקי הוא הנתיב לעולמות העליונים ולעולמות התחתונים והקו האנכי מייצג את
הגריד של העולם, כל המסלולים האפשריים החוצים זה את זה. קרבה זו לאקסיס מונדי
